The Telefónica Foundation, IE University and South Summit ("Organisation"), within the framework of the enlightED Hybrid Edition 2021, which is jointly organised, promote this contest (enlightED Awards) with the purpose of:
In this new 2021 edition, the Organisation continues with its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship, increasing the focus of the enlightED Awards to four categories, thus opening the contest to:
The enlightED Awards are held within the framework of this edition of the enlightED Hybrid Edition 2021, now in its fourth edition, and will be organised as a worldwide conference gathering leading international experts in education, technology and innovation in order to share solutions to the challenges caused by Covid-19 in learning and employment in our societies, and to reach practical conclusions through a large-scale debate on education in the digital era.
In this context, the enlightED Awards seek in this edition to consolidate its leadership as one of the most important educational innovation awards in the world, giving its participants the opportunity to share, with the rest of the educational community, the new education and digital innovation projects that have resulted from Covid-19 with the strategies and lessons learnt for a world that will never be the same again.
In summary, this edition of the enlightED Awards seeks to recognise and give visibility to those organisations and institutions that have promoted innovative projects to improve the educational and training environment, with the aim of understanding new trends and being able to respond to some of the challenges and problems of education, work, entrepreneurship and learning.
From the proposals submitted by participants to the enlightED Awards, an Evaluation Committee, which will be put together by the Organisation, will award the best from four different categories, as described in these Terms and Conditions, in the "Awards" section.
Participation in the enlightED Awards implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Entities participating in the enlightED Awards will be able to present their projects in one of the four categories described below. The different categories of participation take into account the nature of the entity promoting the project submitted to the enlightED Awards, or that of the project itself:
As described in the "Awards" section of these Terms and Conditions, several entities will win the enlightED Awards for each of the categories described.
The deadlines set for the development of the enlightED Awards are directly linked to each of the categories of participation described above.
For participants in the first category, the deadline for submitting applications will start on 7 July 2021 and end on 22 August of the same year (both inclusive). The Organisation will announce the winners during the first week of September 2021. The prizes corresponding to this first category will be announced in September 2021. Such date will be set by the Organisation after the publication of these Terms and Conditions.
Regarding the remaining categories of the enlightED Awards (second, third and fourth), the deadline for submission will be open between 7 July 2021 to 15 September 2021 (both inclusive). The awarded entities will be contacted by the Organisation from 27 September 2021, with the awards ceremony taking place on 21 October of that same year.
It will be subject to the sole discretion of the Organisation to decide the nature and format of the award ceremony.
The legal entities that are detailed below may participate in the enlightED Awards, providing that they are legally constituted and following submission of a specific educational proposal, which must fit into one of the four categories described above. Such participating entities may have the consideration of:
Entities participating in the enlightED Awards may be based in any country in the world, although applications must be made in one of the following languages: Spanish, English or Portuguese.
Participation will be formalised using a form that can be found on the website enabled by the Organisation for this purpose, which can be accessed via https://enlighted.education/ and, additionally, for the First Category. Entrepreneurship, via https://enlighted.southsummit.co/register/ (the "Website"). Said form and, therefore, the presentation of the corresponding candidacy, must be completed by a natural person who has the legal capacity to act on behalf of the participating entity or, in any case, with sufficient authorisation to present such candidature to this contest. To formalise the candidacy, all the information or data requested on the website must be completed.
Specifically, the website will require participants to describe the project or specific proposal submitted to the enlightED Awards. Both projects that are in an early stage of development and those that are more consolidated may be presented.
As indicated above, the projects submitted must focus on one of the four categories covered by the enlightED Hybrid Edition 2021: entrepreneurship, corporate training, higher education and primary and secondary education. Each participant will be able to enter the enlightED Awards with a single project, therefore, should they present several projects, only the first one submitted will be valid.
After submitting the application, once the form provided on the website has been completed, the enlightED Awards Evaluation Committee may contact the participating entities in order to clarify any questions regarding the information included in the aforementioned form.
The Organisation will form an enlightED Evaluation Committee, which will be made up of professionals with experience/skills in the areas and topics covered by the Contest. After analysing the proposals submitted and in accordance with the criteria detailed below, this Committee will choose the winners of the enlightED Awards in each of the categories of participation described.
The deliberations of the Evaluation Committee will be confidential and their decision will be final.
To choose the winners in each category, the Evaluation Committee will apply the following criteria in the analysis of the projects presented:

In application of the aforementioned criteria, the Evaluation Committee will select several winners for each of the four categories of participation in the enlightED Awards. Participating entities that win the enlightED Awards will be awarded by the Organisation as follows:
In addition, the Evaluation Committee will select a winner from among these ten finalists, so that one of its members, selected by said winner, will get a full scholarship, valued at € 1,950, personal and non-transferable, to study one of the High Impact Online Programmes taught by IE University Exponential Learning, for the academic year 2021-2022. Said scholarship will be awarded directly by IE University, as a member entity of the Organisation.
Additionally, the projects presented by the winning entities in each of these three categories of the enlightED Awards will be disseminated by the Organisation, within the framework of the enlightED Hybrid Edition 2021 world congress. The Organisation undertakes to give visibility to such projects through the enlighted.education website and on its social media channels. At the sole discretion of the Organisation, the winning entities may be invited to participate in person or virtually at the enlightED Hybrid Edition 2021 to present the project submitted to the enlightED Awards.
The corresponding withholdings or payments on account will be made on the monetary prizes in accordance with the provisions of the regulations in force.
By registering and accepting these Terms and Conditions, participants in the enlightED Awards declare and guarantee the Organisation that they are the authors and/or exclusive owners of the projects presented, as well as of all the materials involved in them, or that they have the due authorisations from third parties (owners of said materials), in order to guarantee the uses described here in favour of the Organisation. In the event of any claims by third parties, the participants agree to hold harmless the Organisation or any third parties authorised by the latter.
The participants selected authorise the Organisation collectively and individually with regard to each one of the entities that form it, on a non-exclusive basis and capacity to transfer to third parties, the reproduction, public communication, transformation and distribution rights, in all their formats, of the projects presented to the enlightED Awards, with a global scope and for the maximum period of protection provided for in the legislation in force until the entry into the public domain of the said projects, but limiting such uses to non-free and non-commercial purposes, set out in the dissemination of the activities and purposes of the Organisation and the enlightED Hybrid Edition 2021, so that the winning projects can be disseminated through the channels of dissemination and communication of the aforementioned congress.
In the event that during the enlightED Award, a claim is presented against any of the participants due to a breach of the intellectual property rights of third parties, or for the presentation of the project for which the Organisation or Evaluation Committee has well-founded doubts, said participant may be disqualified from the the enlightED Awards.
The Organiser undertakes not to process the personal data provided by the participants except for the purposes related to the organisation and selection of the enlightED Awards. The consent of the participants regarding the privacy policy of each one of the entities comprising the Organisation will be obtained when registering for the enlightED Awards via the Website.
The selected participants will be solely responsible for the veracity of the data provided.
The enlightED Awards are governed by these Terms and Conditions. Their acceptance by all participants who wish to take part in the enlightED Awards is a precondition for participating in them.
With the acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, the participants understand the terms and conditions therein, and undertake to comply with the legislation in force that may be applicable in this regard, in such a manner by the simple fact of participating in the enlightED Awards they are granting their consent to be subject to the Terms and Conditions and to the legality thereof, fully and irrevocably, as well as the decisions of the Evaluation Committee.
The Organisation is responsible for the development of the enlightED Awards and reserves the right to remove any participant that does not comply with the conditions established in these Terms and Conditions and/or which, Pursuant to the applicable legal provisions, Violates the rights of third parties or any other legislation of a civil, penal, administrative or any other nature, or which have provided false, inexact, incomplete or obsolete data.
The Organisation has the right to interpret and change these Terms and Conditions.
The Organisation is not liable for any possible loss of data due to problems with email and/or the poor functioning of the Internet and/or Website and, similarly, is exempt from any liability for damages and losses of any nature caused by the participation, as well as the damages and losses of any nature that may be suffered by the participants or third parties as a result of their participation in enlightED Awards.
In the resolution of any dispute or discrepancy that may arise in the interpretation or application of these Terms and Conditions, both the Organisation and the participants in the enlightED Awards expressly submit to the jurisdiction and courts of the Capital of Madrid, with express waiver of any other jurisdiction.
Participation in the enlightED Awards implies full and total acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and legal conditions set forth therein.
The law applicable to the enlightED Awards will be Spanish.
