Interview with Pablo Rabanal CEO/Founder of Reclamador.es

We talk with Pablo Rabanal, CEO/Founder of Reclamador.es who shares his experience in South Summit. They were track winners in 2017.The aim of Reclamador.es is to use technology to defend people's rights against companies in a simple and transparent way. They work under a No-Win, No-Fee model. In other words, they only get paid if he wins, without the client having to assume initial costs.


What does South Summit mean for  you? Why did you decide to participate in the competition? 


The South Summit means a boost to the model of company we created in 2012 as an opportunity to be in touch with other startups and investors of reference at a European level. It’s a recognition that places reclamador.es even better in the business landscape.

It was a very important decision and it allowed us to have access to a wider network of investors. This has contributed very positively to the project, so we recommend participating in South Summit, apart from the emotional value of the recognition we obtained.


How did you feel when you knew you were finalist?


We were very excited given the number and quality of the different services and projects evaluated last year and much more when we won the prize for the best startup in the category of consumer services (b2c), which recognizes us as the best service company focused on the final customer.


This recognition is the result of the work that all team members perform with each of our clients. In these years we have already helped more than 180,000 people to assert their rights. Our goal is "to help people defend their rights by providing a simple and effective way of complaint." We make available the advantages of new technologies to users so that they can make a claim in the simplest way possible (that’s online) and recover what is legitimately of them just at the click of a button.


How was your experience at South Summit? What were your impressions?


It has been a great experience, 100% satisfactory and positive, so I would definitely recommend it. As a tech company, South Summit is the perfect ecosystem to develop businesses related to the digital world. In addition, we have the opportunity to meet many people who have failed many times before reaching to their success and to share synergies and experiences with other entrepreneurs.


How has your startup developed since you applied to the contest? Any funny anecdote or successful story to mention?


Well, really the most striking moment was the day I made the quick presentation, and the jury told us that we had won. The truth is that we did not believe it. Among thousands of participants it was a big achievement.


What do you think it will happen in the future of startups?


There is still a long way to go in Spain. Regulation is now better, but does not favor startups in Spain widely yet. The process to set up a business is tremendously complicated and the bureaucratic tasks to do it stop many entrepreneurs, being one of the pending challenges in our country. In spite of this, the growth of brilliant ideas that will become new business realities in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Bilbao or Valencia will follow, and above all, those that follow models that connect with customers will prevail.


What advice would you give to those who want to participate in South Summit?


The advice is that they must not doubt it: everything that can come out of an event like the South Summit is positive. If you have a good business idea and you have faith in it, don't give up, and consider that participating in an event like this will be a small step that can bring great economic benefits as well as brand recognition.
